Circle water decals!

Hi all :)

A while back I bought some water decals from Born Pretty Store and I tried them out earlier this week! They were easy to apply (but it's the first time I've tried water decals so I have nothing to compare with) and I really liked this look.. Kinda neat!

I used OPI Skull and Glossbones (as base on the nails with the decals on), Essence  Sundancer (thumb), Viva la Diva no. 39 (index) and Eyeko Lilac Polish (pinky).

Have you tried water decals before - and what do you think about using them for nail art?

I sure am looking forward to trying other designs and I have another design I bought at the same time..

Tomorrow is the first day of the 31DC2013 and I'm looking forward to see if I can complete it!

Have fun and take care =)

Hi all :)

I have no idea how to describe this.. But it's inspired by THIS mani by Wondrously Polished and THIS mani by Nailed It ..

I think the ring finger is kinda succesfull, but the rest.. meh..

I used Gosh Yellow Doll and Barry M Dolly Mixture for my pointer and pinky and on the others I used Urban Outiftters Virgin and Gosh Lavender Love.

Have fun and take care :)

Planted Hearts

Hi all :)

This mani is inspired by Rina's Planted-Hearts mani.. I've wanted to re-create it since I saw it..

I used Maybelline Color Show Pow Green for the base color and Color Club Fly With Me on top on the pinky and index finger.  H&M Mambo (purple) and Essie Going Incognito (dark green) for the flowers

I love this color combo :)

Have fun and take care =)

I'm gonna do it! I think I'm gonna do it anyway.. 31DC2013

Hi all :)

So Sarah from Chalkboard Nails is once again doing the 31 Day Challenge in September and inviting everybody to tag along.. I've often thought about doing it.. And this time I think I actually will..

The problem is gonna be doing a new mani every day, since September is also when I begin my postgraduate.. buut I'm gonna try and start already now so I have a bit of a head start.. Or else I'll just do at my own pace..

Click the pic to go to Sarah's 31DC2013 post!

I'll also try and use twitter and the #31DC2013 hashtag.. But I haven't really used twitter much except from reading feeds.. I'm @Tjofie on twitter, but don't really use it, that's why I haven't 'advertised' it.. But you're welcome to follow me, I might even begin to use it after getting used to it during this challenge..

Let me know if you're doing the challenge too! :)

Have fun and take care!

Bright Color-Blocking

Hi all :)

Here's a kind of color blocking mani I did using tape.. OMG does tape-manis require a lot of patience? I wanted to add more detail, but that would mean more waiting for layers to dry and more layers of topcoat..

I used China Glaze Papaya Punch (orange) and H&M Check Me Out (coral) and Being on the A-list (yellow).

Despite of the hassle I still loved this mani - so bright and happy..

Have fun and take care =)

Mix and match: Triangles

Hi all :)

Here´s one that was difficult to photograph.. But I love the duochrome! The base is Catrice It's Rambo no. 5. Lovely creme, applies like a dream! Used China Glaze Westside Warrior, Catrice I'm a Star and Nubar Wildlife for the nail art.

The inspiration for this nail art came from different sources..

Ring and pinky inspired by a triangular pattern by Preciouspolish.. I've had it in my "inspiration-folder" for a loong time.. And probably will keep it there..

Middle finger inspired by THIS chevron design..

Ring and thumb is kinda inspired by a tribal pattern by Chalkboardnails  - her middle finger.. I wanted to do the three triangles on top of each other, but ended up liking it better with one big triangle and one smaller..So, yeah..

Have fun and take care =)

Fan-y outline

Hi all :)

An old one and a bad picture.. Used a fan-brush.. It looked different in my head, but I kinda liked it anyway even though it's a bit weird mani..

Lost my notes about the colors used, unfortunately..

Have fun and take care =)

Purple Rain gradient

Hi all :)

Just a simple one today :)

Rimmel Blue me away as a base on some nails and Nubar Purple Rain Glitter on the others.. On the nails with Blue Me Away I sponged with Chelsea Tropic of Cancer and Nubar Purple Rain Glitter.

Trying to show off the sparkly goodness..

Roses on soak off gel.

Hi all :)

Here's a pretty old mani..  2-3 months or so..

I absolutely loved this mani. It's my first time doing these roses-ish flowers. I'm not much for pink colors, so I chose one of my fave color combos: purple and bright green.. And I always love me some grey polish, so this is right up my alley..

The base is BMG 002 (Soak off gel). It's allrigt, even though it is a bit runny.. I painted the flowers with color club pucci-licious and H&M Notoriously Beautiful and the leaves with Orly Fresh. I sealed it in with a uv top coat so it would last this whole mani.

Fun fact: When I took the photos of these, it seemed like the camera had turned the blue into purple.. And it does look like that on the screen of my camera and on my laptop screen, but when I connect my laptop to my new LED monitor - the colors are spot on! So a lot depends on the quality of the monitor I guess ;)

Have fun and take care :)

Hi all :)

Just a short post today.. This is my first attempt to do a tribal-ish mani, and even though it didn't turn out as a wanted I really liked! I have to try to do something tribal-ish again..

I lost my notes about the polishes used, but I now that my non-accent nails are Zoya Feifei (I LOVE it! It has so many colors in it) and the green is Revlon Essence (Love that one too!)..

Have fun and take care =)

Hi all :)

I don't have great photos of this mani, but there's one part of this nail art that I'm especially happy about, so I thought I would share it anyway..

It's the 'hourglass' on my ring finger. I saw it on All Lacquered Up a long time ago, but just got around replicating it.. I wans't sure how it would work for me so I opted for one nail per hand with this method.. But I ended up loving it to pieces, so I have to do a full mani at some point, maybe with different colors.. I think it's because it's a glitter-polish I did the hourglass with, that made me like it so much..

I used Gosh Groovy Grey as a base (again). The nail art and accents are done with Gosh Blue Balloon, Rimmel My Denim and OPI Get Your Number (Liquid Sand)..

What do you think of the hourglass manicure? Which colors/finishes do you think I should try out next time?

Have fun and take care :)

New design:)

Hi all :)

Most of you probably read my blog in a reader or something similar, so you don't actually see my blog.. So just a heads up, the looks has changed a little bit..

I got the idea earlier today to do a new blog design.. I thought it could be fun to incorporate the spot where I get the best pictures atm - on our balcony with my hand against the wall seperating us from the apartment next to us.. So yeah, that wall is now on my header and the railing on the balcony is on the background.. I kept mostly everything else the same..

Yeah, that's weird I know.. but I needed a change and it's summer, so I have the time.. haha.. Let's see for how long I like this..

I do have a new watermark too, but I have some pictures watermarked already, so it will be a little while before that changes..

Have fun and take care :)

Blue to green: Gradient and flowers..

Hi all :)

This is another recent mani.. I'm still wearing it :O That must be three days and I have minimal tipwear! That never happens to me.. But I'm happy, because I LOVE this mani.. The colors really do it for me!

The gradient is inspired by THIS gradient on Chalkboard Nails. I just loved the colors and knew I had to do something similar..
The flowers are inspired by THIS tutorial over at Very Emily. Mine didn't turn out just as good and I couldn't for the life of me do stamens on the flowers, so I just dotted the middle :p

Close-ups, just because,,

I did one (!) coat of Gosh Groovy Grey on all my nails, then did the gradient and flowers with  Orly Fresh, JLB Aruba Blue and Revlon Royal. The dots in the flowers are made with W'n'W  Black Creme.

Have fun and take care =)

Some randoms...

Hi all :)

Here's a few randoms..Pics are taken with my phone..

This first one is BMG 002 (soak-off gel) topped with L'oreal Confettis and an accent with OPI Cute and simple...

This one is OPI The Impossible, 2 coats - My mother in law bought it on vacation and I tried it while she was visiting us.. But I do have a mini bottle of this - but there's no stars in it.. I like these texture polishes :)

This is 1 coat of H&M Lemon Tree. 2-ish coats of China Glaze Whirled away. I had to dab it on and actually had to fish out the white glitters and place it on the nails with an orange stick. I actually wanted to do a glitter sandwich and then some bumble bee related nail art, but I liked this so much so I left it as this..

I hoped you enjoyed some simple manis =)

Have fun and take care!

Bright braid/fishtail mani!

Hi all :)

This is a recent mani, only a few days old :)

I started out with picking the glitter: Icing Lemme See Your Peacock. Found matching colors - all cremes.. Then I decided wanted shimmers instead, even though I knew they weren't as opaque...

I ruined the nails with the glitters - I was apparently too impatient, so the base color kinda wrinkled.. But you don't really see that IRL.

I was as always not as mesmerized by the glitter as I thought I would be - I like matte glitters so much better..  So I mattified.  Didn't quite do the trick, but good enough :)

A close-up, just because the colors are so happy!

I used China Glaze Towel Boy, W'n'W Fergie Glowstick (Horrible wonky brush, but lovely color), H&M Pink and of course Icing Lemme See Your Peacock. Love the fish tail/braid nails, even though the polishes where way to sheer to do such a mani..

Have fun and take care =)

I might be back.. with linen inspired nails :)

Hi all :)

I've been missing blogging for a while and seem to have the time to do it atm, so I thought I would give it a try again :) I have build up a little pile of nail pics, so I have a bit of a buffer..

Today's nail art is maybe a month old or so.. Me and my boyfriend got some new linen as graduation gifts for us and I knew instantly that I needed to do nail art inspired by it..

And inspired is the keyword here, because the linen has a peacock on it, but I didn't want to do peacock nails, I just liked the colors and the feel of it.. So here's the part I was inspired by..

Aand the nails.. Not the best pics, but can't do anything about that..

Here's a pic of the peacock pattern.. Yeah I didn't bother to lie the duvet out flat :p I'm lazy..

One thing I forgot was that I wanted to make a pink border around my nails, since the linen has such a border all around.. But I can do that if I do a mani inspired by this another time..

Oh and I lost the notes about which colors I used, but I know the base is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls aand.. ehm.. Not sure about the blue and pink :/ sorry!

Feels good to be back :) I hope you are all good!

Have fun and take care =)
